Wim A. Van der Stede is the CIMA Professor of Accounting and Financial Management at the London School of Economics, where he is also Head of Department since 2012. Wims research interests primarily focus on the study of management control systems, with a particular interest in performance measurement, evaluation, and incentive systems. Wim has published in several academic and practitioner journals in these areas and is the co-author of the leading text on Management Control Systems. Wim has won several awards for his research, as well as for his teaching, including the AAA Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award (twice). Wim has been the President of the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA), Chair of the Publications Committee of the European Accounting Association (EAA), and currently serves on the AAA Board as a Director (International). Wim is on the Editorial Board of a dozen journals, and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Management Accounting Research. Wim appears regularly at academic and practitioner conferences around the world as a keynote speaker, panelist, presenter or discussant, including for CFOs, controllers and a range of financial professionals. Wim is the author or co-author of about 30 cases which are used in classrooms around the world.

Philip Joos is professor of accounting at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) of Tilburg University (the Netherlands). After graduating from Stanford University, he became a professor at the University of Rochester (US) before joining Tilburg University in 2005. He is currently the President of the European Accounting Association (2017-19) and is one of the founders of the EAA Accounting Research Center (ARC) and organizers of the EAA PhD Forum. His research is situated in the area of empirical financial accounting investigating topics such as earnings prediction, accounting-based equity valuation (also in the context of R&D firms), default risk assessment, disclosures of initial public offerings, and implementation effects of IFRS. Prof. Joos published in international academic journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, the European Accounting Review, Financial Management, Journal of International Accounting Research. He has been a member of several editorial boards of international accounting journals.

David L. Eckles is a Professor of Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Georgia. At the University of Georgia, Dr. Eckles currently teaches in the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. program. He is both the coordinator for the risk management and insurance internship program as well as the Graduate Coordinator for the risk management and insurance Ph.D. program. Prior to joining the faculty in 2005, Dr. Eckles was on faculty in the finance department at Georgia Southern University. He was three times awarded the Les B. Strickler Innovation in Instruction Award by the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA).
Dr. Eckles received an undergraduate degree in risk management and insurance and finance from the University of Georgia. He received an M.A. and Ph.D. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was an S.S. Huebner Fellow. While at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Eckles was also a Sloan Fellow at the Wharton Financial Institution Center.
His research interests include insurance company efficiency, insurer reserving practices, insurer regulation issues, and enterprise risk management. He has published articles in the top academic journals, including the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, North American Actuarial Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance, among others. He is also currently the Vice President of the Western Risk and Insurance Association and is a former President of the Southern Risk and Insurance Association. He has also been a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association and the Risk Theory Society since 2003.

Nick works as an Innovator, Instigator and Disruptor to create future-oriented business education programs that focus on innovation, creativity and design thinking. He has a particular passion for accountability where he co-founded The Accountability Institute - a progressive platform with an aim of fostering collaborations between art, science, technology and economics, bringing these fields into conversation to create a new language of business - a language of accountability. He researches in the areas of integrated thinking, learning technologies, holistic systems design and regenerative economics. This has led to the awarding of competitive research funds of over a million Australian dollars, including Federal State level grants in both Australia and Germany. He has published widely in international accounting and education journals, been invited to present at research centres and professional organisations in the UK, US Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He serves on boards and committees of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). Nick is an Associate Editor of Accounting Education, Issues in Accounting Education and Higher Education and Research (HERD) journal. He instigated Monash Business Schools newly created Artist-In-Residency program, conceptually designed the worlds first ever accounting perfume and together with the accounting profession is embarking on research that investigates what a future accounting profession may look like.
